MERIZELLE™ Absorbable Hemostat

MERIZELLE™ Absorbable Hemostat is a sterile absorbable knitted fabric prepared by the controlled oxidation of regenerated cellulose. MERIZELLE™ Absorbable Hemostats contains (95 – 100%) oxygenated regenerated cellulose and water (0-5 %). It is white to pale yellow in color and has a faint, caramel-like aroma. A slight discoloration may occur with age, but this does not affect performance. Three different types of MERIZELLE™ absorbable hemostat are available. MERIZELLE™ Absorbable Hemostats are available with three different knitting patterns. MERIZELLE™ meets all the requirements for Oxidized regenerated cellulose established by United States Pharmacopeia (U.S.P.) 

MERIZELLE™ hemostat available in following three variants

MERIZELLE™ Standard –Fine weaved
MERIZELLE™ Woven – Densely weaved
MERIZELLE™ Fibre – Soft weaved

Applicable for various tissue thicknesses and surgery sites.

Absorbed within 1-2 weeks, if left in place; may be removed prior to closure (at a surgeon's discretion).

Indication

  • MERIZELLE™ Standard: MERIZELLE™ Standard is fine weaved structured material of oxidized regenerated cellulose and is indicated to be used in Nephrological, Neurological and General surgical procedures to assist in the control of capillary, venous, and small arterial hemorrhage when ligation or other conventional methods of control are impractical or ineffective.
  • MERIZELLE™ Woven: MERIZELLE™ Woven is densely weaved structured oxidized regenerated cellulose material provides strength in the presence of heavy bleeding and is indicated to be used in general surgical procedures when ligation or other conventional methods of control are impractical or ineffective.
  • MERIZELLE™ Fibre: MERIZELLE™ Fibre is tufts of soft lightweight oxidized regenerated cellulose can be peel off as little or as much as desired. It can be used in any size, shape or thickness for hard-to-reach sites or irregularly shaped bleeding sites and is best suitable for neurosurgical (CNS) procedures to assist in the control of capillary, venous, and small arterial hemorrhage when ligation or other conventional methods of control are impractical or ineffective.
